Edward F. Turowski, the founder of Aladdin Heating & Cooling was born and raised in the Detroit area. As a young teenager he worked for a local plumber to help his mother pay the family's bills (his father died in an auto factory accident when Ed was 4 years old). During World War II, Ed served in the SEA BEE unit of the U.S. Navy. The SEA BEES are a combat construction unit responsible for many tasks such as underwater piping on crucial fuel lines for naval vessels and airplanes.
When the war ended, Ed moved back home to Detroit continuing work in the piping industry and founded Aladdin Mechanical Contractors, which eventually became Aladdin Heating & Cooling. The philosophy he lived by was simple, "Work hard, be honest with your customers and treat their home as if it were your own." It is a philosophy that has kept Aladdin Heating & Cooling serving the metropolitan Detroit area for over 50 years.
Ed passed away in 1997. Today his two sons, Dave and Ed, along with the company's 45 employees, carry on the tradition of honesty and hard work. |
